Tomochain is a blockchain competitor to Ethereum and the like, with unique features that have started to attract developers across the globe. As more projects in their ecosystem are bubbling up, it became clear that an NFTÂ marketplace specifically for Tomochain digital assets would be a great addition to the ecosystem and help attract more users.
My team received grant funding from TomoMasterDAO to develop the NFT marketplace.
In designing OuterOrbit, we wanted to make sure we utilized Tomochain's unique features that set it apart from its competitors. Tomochain has extremely cheap gas (transaction fees) so we are able to store all the metadata on-chain, either on Tomochain or other 3rd-party decentralized options. In designing the interface, I made sure it felt familiar to other such marketplaces, but gave it a unique layout akin to Twitter's desktop (an application very popular among cryptocurrency/NFT users).
For the brand aesthetic, I gave it a clean, bright, streetwear-brand type feel and incorporated grunge textures to add some personality. I created a Brand Guide and detailed instructions of button states, modals, and other features to aid the development team.
OuterOrbit is live on Tomochain testnet, with a mainnet release coming this quarter. Check out the product at outerorbit.io.
